Modern Slavery Statement

Version 2.0 · Last reviewed 28 October 2026

The steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and our supply chain.

About this statement

1.1

This statement sets out the steps Lawyerly Ltd takes to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and our supply chain. Modern slavery includes slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, child labour and human trafficking.

1.2

Lawyerly Ltd is a law firm authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, providing subscription and fixed-fee legal services to businesses in England and Wales. We are wholly owned by Lawyerly Group (Pty) Ltd, a South African company that builds and operates the technology we use and employs staff who support our team.

1.3

Our turnover is below the threshold at which section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires a statement. We publish one voluntarily because we expect the same standards of ourselves that we help our clients meet.

Our supply chain

2.1

Our supply chain is short and mainly digital. It consists of our group company and its technology contractor, the software and cloud providers we use to run the practice, our payment and identity verification providers, and professional advisers such as our compliance consultants, accountants and insurers.

2.2

We do not manufacture goods or buy physical goods at any scale.

2.3

We consider the overall risk of modern slavery in our business to be low. The areas we keep under review are the people who work for us through our group in South Africa, and the hardware and data centre supply chains that sit behind the large technology providers we use.

What we do

3.1

Our people

Everyone who works on our behalf does so under a written contract, is paid at least the legal minimum in the country where they work, and is free to leave in line with their contract. We carry out right to work checks for anyone working for us in the United Kingdom.

3.2

Our suppliers

We use established providers, most of which publish their own modern slavery statements or equivalent commitments. We assess new providers before engaging them, and we may end a relationship where a supplier does not meet the standards in this statement.

3.3

Raising concerns

Anyone who works with us can raise a concern about possible exploitation with a director, in confidence and without fear of retaliation. We will look into every concern and take proportionate action.

3.4

Awareness

We make our team aware of the signs of modern slavery and of how to raise a concern.

Review and approval
